Using Emo Eyeliner

Emo Eyeliner Goes Hand in Hand With the Emo Hairstyle
The emo style is one of the most popular around today, encompassing beautiful sad music, moody haircuts with both spikes in the back and bangs that droop over the eyes, and a gothic fashion of makeup that relies heavily on black.
The emo look is gloomy and downcast, designed to make the unhappy spirit within the wearer obvious on their surfaces. To wear emo makeup, especially eyeliner, and wear it well, you should be sure that the rest of you looks good in black. Take the time to shift your wardrobe to black or colors that meld with black in some way. Work on your hair, using highlights that blend well with your emo clothes and your basic skin tone.

When this is done, you are ready to complete your emo look with careful application of eyeliner. Any popular black product will do. Start with the usual tracing of the eyelid, but do it twice. After applying this double set of lines, expand the width of the top eyelid line upwards. Then, when you add your eye shadow, emphasize the upper lid again. The lower eyelid should never be equal in heaviness to the upper. When the dark eyeliner or eye shadow starts to reach up into the curve of the bone structure of the eyebrow, fade out the coloration with careful smudging pulled to the outer corner of the eye. Finally, to make your dark lines leap off your face, apply a foundation makeup that is just a little bit lighter than your own skin tone.
